- How big will my finished piece be? Will it be exactly 18"X22", or 22"X28"? Depends on the original size of the painting; for example, Waterhouse's "Lady of Shallot" come out to 16 3/4" X 22". The finished size of your piece is determined, of course, by the ratio of length to width in the original. The "dominant" dimension in the smaller size, is determined by the "longest" side of the piece being the 22" side, while in the larger size, the 22" side will be the smaller of the two dimensions. We can, of course, make your piece in whatever size you chose...
- What if the length of my artwork is over 28"? We will increase the length up to 30" if the piece requires it; however, for lengths in excess of 30", we will email you with the additional cost (which is usually minimal).
- What material do you print on? We print on artist-grade QIS canvas, produced to last for generations.
- What can I expect in terms of quality? In a word, the very best; we use the finest scanning, picture enhancement, and printing techniques to bring you the most accurate, color-true reproductions available. The individually-added brush-strokes add to the works' sense of realism and provide that added "depth of field" missing in so many reproductions. In most cases, you won't be able to tell the MasterWorks piece from the original except upon close comparison and examination. Our fidelity is much greater than poster-grade productions.
- Can you do any piece of art? No. We are limited to what we can obtain licenses to reproduce, and to those works that are in the public domain, but this covers a lot of ground. Also, if you want a particular graphics piece reproduced on canvas, we will attempt to contact the artist's agent or image owner and secure rights to produce a single canvas. The other way we can do virtually ANY piece you request is for you to send us the actual picture: we will do ONE PIECE for you, from your copy: in that manner, we are providing you a service [namely, enlarging a picture you already possess], rather than selling any artist's copyrighted work...
- What pieces can you reproduce? The list is too long to name. Check out our "Artist's" list for a few of the major ones.
- What if I have my own picture that I would like you to canvasize? Good question. We can canvasize any picture that you send to us, as long as it is your photo. We are merely providing you a service by canvasizing your photo, and as such, we are not restricted in content.
- How long will it take for me to get my picture? We always tell you to allow ten to twelve days for delivery. Usually, though, we are able to deliver within seven days from date of purchase. Rush orders accepted as time allows.
- What if I don't like the way you did the piece? Simple. Send it back, we either replace it or refund your money (less shipping and handling), your choice, no questions asked.
- How durable is the finished work? Our work is designed to last for generations with usual care. We seal and coat our work a total of six times, with both clear and UV-resistant sealers. Like any piece of art, care needs to be taken in regards to direct contact with water or sun, which will, over time, effect any painting, in any medium.
- Can you do pieces larger than 22" wide? Yes. We will print canvases up to 34" in the narrower dimension. These are special orders, and we will be pleased to provide you with a quote on a specific piece. We are also able to provide custom pieces with widths of up to 70", again, by special order.
- Can I order the canvas without the frame? Yes. We'll mount your canvas, and send it in that manner, using either our "Perfect Mount" method, pressure-mounting the canvas to professional-grade 3/8" foamcore. Or, if you chose, we will do the traditional 'stretch mount' on a wooden frame; this option runs extra: price depends on the size of the canvas. Contact us for prices.
- Can I order the canvas unmounted? Yes. We will send your completed MasterWork rolled and delivered in a shipping tube. This is the LEAST EXPENSIVE method to ship your canvas, and we recommend it, if you DON'T want us to frame your piece: normally, your framer will give you a reduced price for mounting, if you're buying their frame: if WE mount and ship your piece, the shipping price is 2.5X MORE [$19 within Cont. US].
- What if I order and pay for a work that you are unable to produce? We contact you immediately and advise you that we are not able to print the piece you have chosen, and your charge account is credited or your check or money order directly refunded.
- What happens when I place my order? We search our files and see if we have your selection in-house. If we don't, we contact our licensing agents and see if it is possible to secure a one-time reproduction approval. We are usually successful in securing these, but there have been occasions when this was impossible. When your order is received, you are sent an automatic confirmation by email that your order has been received and your credit card accepted. We then secure your picture and produce it. After the piece has "cured" for several days, we then frame and ship it to you; it arrives with all hardware in place and ready to hang.
- What pieces can't you produce? In most cases we are unable to reproduce currently-producing artists or any artist whose work is copyrighted and unlicensable, like Bev Doolittle for example. Ms. Doolittle's work is licensed strictly to a specific agent, and our reproduction of her work is simply not possible. We do not "pirate" artist's works and will not reproduce any work that we don't have the legal rights to. If you wish us to reproduce an artist that you know owns their own copyrights, please supply us with contact information and we will make every effort to accommodate you.
- Do you work with artists to produce their works? Yes. We work with a number of artists to provide limited editions of their works translated onto our canvas medium. We welcome inquiries in these regards and enjoy working closely with artists to increase their marketability and sales volume using this innovative medium.
